The J. C. Daniel Award is Kerala's top Malayalam film accolade. The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, a nonprofit organisation under the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala, India, presents it every year. The 1992-instituted award recognises the winners for their "great contributions to Malayalam cinema."
JC Daniel Award
The J.C. Daniel Award is an award given by the Kerala State Film Academy to a person who has made a comprehensive contribution to the field of Malayalam cinema. The award is named after J.C. Daniel, known as the father of Malayalam cinema. Winners are selected by an independent jury established by the Academy and the Department of Cultural Affairs. Since its inception, the J. C. Daniel Award has been bestowed on 27 individuals. The prize money for the J.C Daniel Award is RS 5 lakh. List of JC Daniel Award winners are given below:-
